Motorola officially announces the Moto G5 and G5 Plus

They are here! The two mid-range kings for 2017 have been announced. After months of leaks, the two successors to the Moto G family have just been announced by Motorola and Lenovo during its MWC event in Barcelona.

The Moto G5 features a 5" 1080p IPS display. It's an upgrade to the G4 Play, as it seems Moto realized some people want a more compact powerhouse. The G5 comes with a 2800mAH removable battery, in an all-metal design that reminds us of the Moto Z series. There's even a round camera back, which is a 13MP one.

The Moto G5 comes with a fingerprint scanner too, and runs Android Nougat out of the box, paired with "Motorola Experiences", the ecosystem of all the Moto Apps (Moto Voice, Display, Actions). The phone runs on the budget-friendly Snapdragon 430, paired with 2GB of RAM.

The G5 Plus will come with a 5.2" 1080p screen, similar to the one found on the Moto X2, making it comfortable to hold. It's also an all-metal design, that comes with a 3000mAH battery, just like the G4, though screen size might help making that battery last a bit more.

The phone runs on Nougat, comes with the Snapdragon 625 processor paired with different RAM configurations depending on the variant/region (2/3/4GB).

It comes with Turbo Power and a 12MP camera with rapid focus. The phone will be available starting March in most regions, as this is one of Motorola's biggest releases for 2017.
